Understanding Sculpture
So, what is actually meant by Sculpture?
Three -dimensional arts made by one of the four basic processes: carvings, modeling, casting, building
.
Explanation of Sculpture
Carving
Carving is a sculpture technique that involves the use of tools to form shapes by cutting or eroding from solid materials such as stones, wood, ivory or bones.
CASTING
Casting involves making molds and then pouring liquid materials, such as liquid metal, plastic, rubber or fiberglass into the mold. The actor is a form made by this process. Many statues are produced by artists who model shape (usually on clay, candles or plaster). This is then used to make a mold to be thrown. Prints can be thrown more than once, allowing artists to make art editions.
Modeling
Modeling is the additive process. This means that the soft material is done by artists to build shapes or shapes (rather than eroding or material as in carvings). Also unlike carvings, soft materials such as clay and candles can be changed and re -work. Modeling maquette can also often be the first step in the creation of ready -made statues.
Build and assemble
In the twentieth century a new way of making a statue appeared with Picasso cabbage construction. This is still a subject of life made of used material (found) that is glued. The statue built in various forms becomes the main school in modern art, including in movements such as constructivism or techniques such as a collection. Artists have used techniques including bending, folding, sewing, welding, foliating, binding, weaving, and balancing to build statues of various kinds of materials and objects found.
