Van Gogh is painted from nature but develops the use of colors and brushes that are very personal expressing emotional responses to the subject and the inner world.
Post-impressionism as the term was first used by British artists and art critics Roger Fry in 1910 when he organized the 1910 Manet exhibition and post-impressionist.
