Drying oil is vegetable oil, often made by crushing beans or seeds. For paint, flax seed oil is most often used, but opium, sunflower, safflower, soybeans and walnut oil can also be used. The advantage of the quality of slow drying oil paint is that an artist can gradually develop paintings, make changes or corrections if necessary.

Oil paint is well integrated with each other, making variations of fine colors possible and easier to make details of light and shadows. They can also be diluted with turpentine or other thinning agents. A very runny layer dries relatively fast, nail free in a few days. A thicker layer, contains more oil, takes longer. Oil paint continues to dry, the more difficult as we get older for decades. Pigments and extender will also affect the drying rate, so that different colors can dry up with different speeds.

Moreover, as we have seen above, this term is one of a collection of dictionaries, acronyms, terms, jargon, or terminology in the field of arts that begins with an alphabet or prefix O, as well as terms associated with O.
